Associate, Growth Merchant Lead

An organization in the on-demand delivery and local commerce industry is seeking an Associate, Growth Merchant Lead to support expansion in emerging markets by developing new restaurant partnerships across an assigned territory. This is a field-based sales role centered on in-person outreach, relationship building, and managing fast-paced deal cycles. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys face-to-face selling, thrives in developing markets, and has a proven ability to win new business with small and midsize companies. Experience working with restaurants, hospitality groups, or food and beverage businesses will be especially valuable.

Key Details

  • Approximately 11-12 month assignment, depending on start date
  • Potential start dates of 7/7 or 8/4
  • Candidate must live within 40 minutes of Wichita, KS
  • Commission structure included with uncapped earning potential

What You'll Do

  • Drive new business development in underserved and emerging markets
  • Travel throughout the territory to meet restaurant owners and present partnership opportunities
  • Manage a high-volume, transactional sales cycle with a focus on quick closes
  • Negotiate partnership and revenue-share agreements with local and regional restaurants
  • Partner with regional sales leadership to execute market growth strategies
  • Use sales enablement tools, collateral, and promotional resources to support outreach efforts
  • Represent the organization in the field, with most sales activity conducted in person

Travel Requirements

  • Travel is required and is expected to make up at least 50% of the role
  • Most travel will be within 2 hours of the hired city
  • Some trips may include overnight stays, extended driving days, or flights
  • Approved business travel expenses will be covered

Preferred Background

  • 2.5+ years of sales experience in a closing role or similar environment
  • Demonstrated success selling to SMB clients, ideally within restaurant, hospitality, or food and beverage sectors
  • Ability to balance inside and outside sales strategies to meet performance goals
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building processes and creating scalable success
  • Comfort working independently in the field while contributing to a broader sales strategy
