Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for a Family Birthing Center RN!


- Shift: 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend
- Float Requirement: First to Float
- Unit: Family Birthing Center
- Bed Capacity:
- Labor & Delivery: 4 Beds
- Mother/Baby: 8 Beds
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- Advanced AWHONN
- STABLE preferred
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Labor & Delivery
- Patient Ratios:
- L&D: 1:2, 1:1 during active delivery
- MB: 1:4 (couplets)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
- Charge Nurse Duties: Yes, generally does not take patients but provides break relief
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Nights - Fri, Sat, Sun)
- Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Team Composition:
- 2 RNs and 1 RT during every delivery
- Common Diagnosis / Types of Patients:
- Approximately 45 deliveries/month
- Standard L&D cases, term and preterm births
- Newborns on IV antibiotics and/or short-term O2
- General GYN patients
- Orientation: 2-3 days on the floor with a preceptor
- Location: Closest sister hospital is 1 hour away
- Additional Notes: Must be strong in emergencies and able to work independently, especially at night
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments, 3 shifts for less than 13 weeks
- Charting System: Cerner
- BSN Required: False
- License to Submit: Yes
- Trauma Level: Acute Care Setting
