Salary Range: $63,500.00 - $74,000.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage: Up to 25% Job Shift: Afternoon (10-6pm or 11-7pm) Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) is a not-for-profit community development organization serving 8,000 residents a year through a comprehensive array of housing preservation, economic development, community organizing and youth and family support services programs and projects. With community residents leading the way, the mission of Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation is to build a strong, sustainable Cypress Hills/East New York, where youth and adults achieve educational and economic success, secure healthy and affordable housing and develop leadership skills to transform their lives and community. Principal Duties: Design and implement high-quality after-school and summer camp programming, incorporating Arts, Sports and Fitness, Recreation, Literacy, Academic Assistance, Social Emotional and Leadership Development. Hire, supervise, train and evaluate afterschool program staff. Conduct a weekly staff meeting. Recruit, enroll and retain students to meet and exceed the required enrollment and rate of participation expectation of our funders. Collect and maintain all required records. Plan and carry out family events and parent meetings. Assess and address the Individual and collective needs of students and parents, and solicit and respond to their input into the program. Build and maintain an effective partnership with the school Principal. Conduct monthly meetings. Develop positive relations with all stakeholders---school staff, building partners, parents. Serve as liaison to funders and regulators of programs. Maintain contractual and regulatory compliance. Participate fully in division-wide and agency-wide meetings and project teams. Manage budget and petty cash account. Use effective and secure practices in data collection and management to contribute to accurate reporting and protect the confidentiality of staff and participant information. Outreach is conducted to inform and educate neighborhood residents on CHLDC programs and services to optimize awareness within the community. Conduct yourself as a professional representative of Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation. Demonstrate commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change. Perform other duties as assigned as necessary for the success of the program. Position Requirements: Extensive experience with afterschool/extracurricular settings with elementary school-aged young people. Experience with supervision of staff. Availability to work in-person between the hours of 10am -6pm during the school year and 8am - 6pm (8 hours shifts) during the summer. Demonstrated ability with administrative tasks. Should be enthusiastic and dedicated to the program's educational and youth development goals. Bachelor in Education, Social Work, or related fields required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
