Job Title Project Manager Location Tallahassee, Florida (Onsite) Duration 3+ months (possibility of extension) Client Florida Department of Education Overview MGT is seeking an experienced Project Manager to fill a temporary assignment for their CLIENT. Selected candidate will be an employee of MGT for 12 months with possible extension as needed and services contracted to the Client. Minimum Qualifications of Candidate The Department is seeking a Project Manager professional with the following minimum qualifications (these qualifications must be clearly stated on the resume and verifiable via reference checks): Academic Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience. Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is required. Experience 7+ years of project management experience. Experience managing large-scale software implementation projects. Experience managing multiple projects or programs, Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions. Experience documenting technical and business requirement specifications. Additional Desired Skills Ability to act as the primary Project Manager for all software application projects. Works with the PMO Manager to determine and distribute assignments. Possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques. Understands complex web-based computer applications and could guide programming staff through projects. Ability to document business and technical requirements and processes that can be understood and used by other technical staff. Strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assignments. General Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to self-learn/learn tools of trade and adapt to different environments with little or no guidance. Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to successfully translate business language into technical specifications and present them to non-technical staff using terminology they can understand and relate to. Office Tools – Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word, working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint. Excellent at time management, estimating level of effort, and meeting or exceeding deadlines. Team Player – Willing and able to mentor other technical staff and share knowledge. Deliverables/Tasks The Project Manager's key deliverables include, but are not limited to, the following: Understanding business and customer requirements that drive the analysis and design of technical solutions. Coordinating, status reporting and stability of project-oriented work efforts. Establishing and implementing project management processes and methodologies for IT staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Assembling project plans, creating and managing teamwork assignments. Directing and monitoring work efforts daily, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately. Collaborating with Quality Assurance team for preparing test scripts and conducting tests for the developed objects / processes. Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Creates and executes unit test plans and test cases. Assists the client with acceptance testing prior to production implementation. Ensuring compliance to standards through code walkthroughs and metadata reports. Understanding and following source code promotion processes. Compensation and Application Process Compensation: $70-$80/hr on W2.
