Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process, current trends, and technological resources to deliver high-quality patient care within a team-based environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform all assigned duties specific to the unit's scope of practice, ensuring compliance with institutional standards.
  
  
• 
  Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized care plans aligned with patient and family needs.
  
  
• 
  Implement nursing interventions and patient care procedures, adjusting plans based on ongoing evaluation and patient response.
  
  
• 
  Document nursing care accurately and thoroughly to support effective communication and continuity of care.
  
  
• 
  Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards, and correcting safety issues promptly.
  
  
• 
  Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, offering constructive feedback and collaborating to improve patient outcomes.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Minimum of one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Valid Illinois RN license in good standing.
  
  
• 
  Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  
  
• 
  ASN required; BSN preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated clinical competence in medical-surgical nursing and patient management.
