Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Summary The Shipping Supervisor manages the day-to-day activities of the hourly shipping employees in accordance with company policy, and product quality standards. This individual is expected to utilize labor hours efficiently and minimize non-value-added activity. The shipping supervisor is responsible for final wind, packaging, and shipping documentation of orders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage warehouse and shippingpersonnel Oversee all operations in department to maximize capacity and efficiency Controlling processes for various operations (including safety & quality) Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures (both company and regulatory) to decrease the potential for team member injuries Maintain a safe and clean work environment by directing and educating team members on best practices Ensure product is packaged to scheduled customer ship dates Evaluate each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure maximum efficiency Support Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering in the training of the hourly operators Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action Communicate and enforce company policies and initiate disciplinary actions as required Discipline and coach employees who fall short of job expectations Investigate and report information to provide realistic schedules to Planning and Customer Service Drive Continuous Improvement by implementing visual management tools for metrics and scheduling, organizing areas for smooth flow (5S, layouts, bins, FIFO principles) Prepare cable for final customer shipment, following footage, packing, and documentation requirements. Process shipping paperwork for all customers and product types Coordinate movement of inventory for customer and intercompany orders Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent 3+ years in a manufacturing environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer skills.
