Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Position Overview The Production Supervisor provides direct supervision to hourly employees in the manufacturing of food products, ensuring safe operations and meeting production schedules. This role communicates production goals, maintains product quality, and maximizes plant efficiencies to support continuous improvement. Responsibilities Reports directly to the assigned Operations Superintendent and may perform duties as needed in their absence. Provides guidance and direction to hourly team members. Supports positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with company policies and consistent administration of policies. Provides training on HACCP/SSOP, GMP, equipment, plant safety, and job‑specific requirements. Handles replacement employee training, workstation assignments/rotations, and overtime assignment. Executes record‑keeping and time‑keeping functions for personnel using the HRIS system, monitors attendance and absenteeism. Manages yield and processes accurate Production Batch Orders. Manages inventory and builds customer awareness across all employees. Coordinates production startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and sanitation. Establishes staffing levels and monitors turnover related to product volumes. Schedules and conducts shift meetings to review safety concerns and performance relative to plant expectations. Maintains accountability for program compliance, production quantity/quality results, and effective communication during critical points. Reduces customer complaints while increasing first‑pass quality. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. Associate’s degree in business, engineering, logistics, or related field highly preferred; business experience may substitute for education. Two (2) or more years of experience in a leadership role. Food manufacturing experience desired but not mandatory. High‑level leadership and decision‑making skills. Ability to motivate, influence, and train people. Ability to interact with all professional levels of plant management. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
