Job Title: Machine Operator Die Cast Job Description
This role operates and monitors die-casting machinery to produce high-quality zinc elevator components, including cab and jamb braille plates. You will manage the manufacturing workflow, inspect finished metal parts, and ensure all production meets established safety and quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and monitor die-casting machines and related equipment to produce zinc elevator components.
- Inspect zinc die-cast parts for sharp definition, dimensional accuracy, and visible defects, ensuring they meet quality specifications.
- Assist with production scheduling and support efficient departmental workflow to meet production goals.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and promptly report any issues to maintain smooth and safe operations.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace in accordance with safety and housekeeping guidelines.
- Collaborate with and support other departments as needed to ensure overall production efficiency and product quality.
- Previous experience operating production or manufacturing machinery.
- Proficiency in basic machine operation and monitoring in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform quality inspections on metal parts and identify defects or irregularities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure parts meet quality and safety standards.
- Willingness to assist and collaborate with other departments when needed.
- Experience with die-casting machinery or metal component manufacturing is beneficial.
- Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality.
- Reliability and punctuality in a production environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.

Work EnvironmentThis position works on 1st shift, typically from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with Fridays from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Start and end times can flex to accommodate day care and similar personal needs. The facility is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable indoor environment while operating die-casting machines and handling zinc components. The role involves standing for extended periods, moving around the production area, and lifting up to 50 pounds as part of normal duties. Standard production attire and appropriate safety equipment are required in the manufacturing area.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Red Wing, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
