The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. They operate imaging equipment, prepare patients, and support physicians in radiology procedures. Responsibilities:
- Position patients accurately and operate radiographic equipment according to procedural guidelines.
- Restrict radiation exposure by properly using collimating devices and safety protocols.
- Perform portable x-ray examinations in various clinical settings, including patient rooms and emergency areas.
- Develop exposed films using available processing methods, ensuring clear diagnostic images.
- Maintain accurate patient records, properly labeling and filing x-ray films and related documentation.
- Assist in preparing and administering radiopaque contrast media while supporting patient comfort and safety.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Possess a valid New Jersey State License and meet the requirements for the ARRT certification exam.
- Have 1-2 years of radiologic experience; 3+ years preferred.
- Demonstrate experience with manifold systems for cath lab procedures.
- Hold current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
