Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

In this engaging position, you will:

• Provide real-time American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and school events
• Facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and school staff
• Accurately translate spoken language into sign language and vice versa, adapting to the needs of various learning situations
• Collaborate with educators and support personnel to create inclusive classroom experiences
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct at all times
• Contribute to a positive school culture by promoting understanding of deaf culture and best communication practices

Qualifications and desired experience include:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and thorough understanding of Deaf culture
• Previous experience in educational settings strongly preferred
• National or state interpreter certification (such as EIPA, RID, or NIC) highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative team
• Adaptability, professional demeanor, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners
