Product Development Engineer As a Product Development Engineer at Elco Lighting, you will play a pivotal role in the entire product lifecycle, from concept generation to final production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test innovative lighting solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Responsibilities Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative lighting products, including LED fixtures, controls, and systems. Apply knowledge of photometry, optics, and thermal management to optimize lighting performance. Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Build and test prototypes to validate designs, ensuring functionality, durability, and safety. Conduct thorough performance testing, including photometric measurements, thermal analysis, and electrical testing. Oversee UL, ETL, and other product safety testing and certifications. Analyze test results and implement design modifications to improve product performance. Product Lifecycle Management Manage the product development process from concept to launch, adhering to project timelines and budgets. Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless production and product quality. Maintain accurate documentation of designs, test results, and specifications. Ensure products meet all relevant regulatory requirements such as UL, CE, and DLC. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in product development, preferably in the lighting industry. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles. Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of lighting industry standards and regulations is a plus. Responsibilities 2-3 weeks of each month traveling to train sales representatives on product line and visit and sell to customers. Aggressively manage sales rep’s activities. Set up trade shows and meetings set‑up counter day. Develop loyalty amongst new Electrical Distributors and lighting showrooms. Build new business through various sales channels. Qualifications Extensive experience in the lighting or electrical industry is required. Strong knowledge of lighting products, technologies, and market trends. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Established track record of leading and motivating sales teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Senior Lighting Product Development Engineer and Product Line Manager We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and detail-oriented electrical or mechanical engineer to join our team. Primary Responsibilities Design, develop and manage new lines of LED lighting fixtures for residential and commercial markets. Production quality control and inspection of manufactured fixtures. Coordination of UL, CA Title 24 requirements with production. Improvement of existing product lines design. Provide product technical support to customers. Coordinate with engineering and product development team to develop, analyze and establish the requirements, specifications, procedures and other engineering documents necessary to obtain product listing through UL and government regulating agencies. Work with test labs to ensure timely approvals of product lines. Test product samples to comply to UL standards. Requirements Strong lighting knowledge. Minimum 5 years of experience working within the lighting industry is required. Comprehensive knowledge of UL, CA Title 24, testing requirements and procedures. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems in the lab as well as problems in the field. An interest in technical and engineering activities. Good oral and written communication skills. The ability to work independently or as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling statements, and supporting accurate and timely payments. This role will run payroll, pay taxes, run checks, and pay vendors, and is essential to maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring efficient financial operations. Key Responsibilities Receive, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents. Prepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire payments. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Maintain and update vendor files and payment records. Assist with month‑end closing activities, including AP accruals. Respond to vendor inquiries and ensure excellent communication. Support audits by providing necessary documentation. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies. Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and other departments to resolve payment issues. Check timecards and print payroll checks. Qualifications College degree required. Associate’s degree or coursework in accounting preferred. 5 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting role. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
