Legal Executive Assistant - Disputes

$45.32 - $60.06 per hour

Summary The Legal Executive Assistant (LEA) - Disputes supports lawyers by managing the daily functions of an attorney's practice, allowing them to concentrate on developing and sustaining their practice. The LEA serves as an executive level assistant for the attorney, creating connections, delivering critical information, ensuring meetings and materials are accurate, and serving as a trusted business partner to help deliver against the priorities of the practice and clients. The LEA also collaborates with Legal Administrative Assistants and Legal Support Assistant team members who support the attorney’s legal team. Location This position is located in our Washington D.C. office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities Provide support and manage the attorney’s projects, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently. Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and other internal departments, handling inquiries and relaying messages accurately. Develop and maintain professional relationships to ensure teams work efficiently and effectively. Provide clear direction and constructive feedback on projects and assignments. Delegate assignments as necessary to LSAs and AskLegalSupport, monitor progress, and communicate on behalf of the attorney to ensure timely, accurate completion. Collaborate with other LEAs or LAAs to complete complex projects or provide supplementary administrative support for attorneys. Provide mentorship and ongoing feedback to LSAs to support their professional development. Draft, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, and presentations on behalf of the attorney. Oversee the maintenance and organization of electronic and paper filing systems within the firm’s DMS/repositories. Conduct research on behalf of the attorney and practice group to compile information for case preparation and executive briefings. Oversee meeting planning and coordination with internal and external parties, ensuring all logistical details are in place. Manage billing matters, including approval forms and correspondence, ensuring prebills are processed accurately and timely. Manage the attorney’s calendar, schedule meetings, resolve conflicts, and organize complex travel itineraries. Desired Skills The ability to communicate effectively in the native language of the region via e‑mail or voice, demonstrate initiative, adaptability, discretion, and a commitment to continual development. Exhibits the utmost professionalism and discretion, overseeing all communications and documents with care and integrity. Possesses proven knowledge of processes, procedures, and document types to provide administrative and legal support. Demonstrates effective communication and people skills, conveys complex information clearly, and is adept at listening and understanding others’ needs. Is a process‑driven professional with excellent time management, able to prioritize and multitask efficiently in a fast‑paced setting. Shows strong attention to detail, works well under pressure, and is capable of working effectively in a demanding environment. Skilled in technology and firm software, including research tools, case management, accounting, and standard Office applications. Proficient with virtual collaboration tools such as Zoom and Teams, and open to learning new skills and adapting to evolving needs. Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, business administration, or a related field Minimum Years Of Experience 5 years’ experience in an administrative role within a corporate or legal environment supporting upper‑level leadership Essential Job Expectations Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties. Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence efficiently and responsively. Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product. Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required. Foster positive work relationships. Comply with all firm policies and practices. Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, including computer work and virtual conference calls. Work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast‑paced environment. Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned. Physical Demands Primarily sedentary work. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and other light physical tasks. The position may require walking and standing only occasionally. Work Environment The role may involve a hybrid arrangement of remote and in‑office work, determined in coordination with the hiring manager. Compensation and Benefits The expected hiring range for this position is $45.32 – $60.06 per hour depending on geographic location. Non‑exempt positions are paid hourly with overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered for employment will also depend on other factors including experience, skills, education, and overall qualifications.
