Staff Engineering Technician-BESS Location: Jacksonville, FL / Overland Park, KS / Denver, CO / Ann Arbor, MI / Houston, TX / Phoenix, AZ (Onsite, Local Only) Pay: $45.52/hr Type: Temp-to-Perm Work Authorization: Green Card Required About the Role COMPANY is seeking a Staff Engineering Technician to support advanced civil and site development work for Distributed Infrastructure projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role sits within the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) group and requires strong technical capability with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation. This position performs advanced drafting, modeling, and design support tasks under general supervision, contributing to moderately complex engineering deliverables. What You’ll Do Function in a project engineering technician capacity supporting multidisciplinary design teams Develop and modify technical drawings, 3D models, and project deliverables Create site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation Apply engineering principles and established design practices to produce moderately complex design solutions Review design inputs for accuracy and consistency Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and detailed estimates Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and support quality consistency across deliverables Coordinate with other design groups to reduce errors and interferences Support field activities as needed Participate in continuous improvement and apply COMPANY quality standards Stay current on emerging technologies and design processes What You Need Green Card Required (no sponsorship available) Must be local to Jacksonville, FL and able to work onsite 5 days/week Diploma or Certificate required; Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred 5+ years of related engineering technician experience Advanced experience with Autodesk Civil 3D (grading surfaces, plan development) strongly preferred Ability to meet all pre‑employment screenings (background, drug screen, MVR) Preferred Skills Strong proficiency in Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation Ability to handle complex technical assignments with minimal direction Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and understanding of engineering standards Experience supporting civil site development (grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, fencing) Ability to review deliverables of others and maintain schedules Why This Role Competitive pay at $45.52/hr Temp‑to‑perm with long‑term growth potential Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge distributed infrastructure and BESS projects Collaborative environment with multidisciplinary engineering teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
