Certified Occupational Therapy AssistantAbout Us: Community LIFE is a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly, committed to empowering older adults to remain at home while preserving their dignity, independence and quality of life. Our program brings the region's experts in geriatric medicine and care together to work as a team in specialized Day Centers, to help older adults enjoy the highest quality of life possible. Our professionals are committed to keeping older adults independent, and in their homes. Our wide range of services are designed to meet the varied needs of seniors, and include medical care, social services, meals, activities, transportation and much more.Position Summary: Our COTA provides in-home and in-center therapy for older adults on an ongoing basis in an effort to help regain or maintain their abilities to remain independent with ADL's and IADL's, range of motion, strength and interventions established by a treatment plan from the OT/L. This is a Mon-Fri daylight (7:30am-4:00pm) position. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the federal rate.Location: Somerset, PABenefits:4 Weeks Paid Time Off7 Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental and Vision insuranceLife InsuranceDisability InsuranceAutomatic Contribution to a 403(b) retirement planTuition ReimbursementDaily Pay availableRequired Education: Successful OTA/L program completion approved by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.Required Experience: Minimum of one year working with the frail or elder population.Required Licensure/CertificationsCurrent OTA licensure issued by the state of PA.Valid PA Driver's LicenseRequired Skills:Able to demonstrate clinical competency with the geriatric population.Initiative and resourcefulness.Discretion, tact, patience, and good judgment.Empathetic and compassionate attitude in caring for the elderly.Ability to understand & carry out non-technical verbal & written directions, record messages, & keep records.Ability to get along well with others and gain the cooperation of participantsPhysical and emotional ability to carry out assigned tasksRoutine work involving the personal care and program activities of participantsNeat appearanceProven record of excellent attendanceGood organizational, time management and interpersonal skillsAbility to adapt and be flexible
