Senior Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing

For additional information, visit Position Overview: This role will manage global supply continuity risk mitigation and cost savings initiatives through key stakeholder collaboration and engagement. Responsibilities include conducting competitive sourcing events, executing supply agreements, leading contract negotiations, and developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies. The role works with Supplier Quality and Sustaining Engineering to conduct on‑site supplier audits, supplier business reviews, non‑conformance resolution, and pursue supplier remuneration for financial damages due to supplier negligence. Responsibilities: Manage direct/indirect teams and assigned supplier spend. Conduct a Supply Base Risk Assessment and use it to establish and execute a strategic sourcing plan that mitigates supply continuity risk, ensures high‑quality materials/services, and manages cost structure. Engage the following sourcing classifications with the listed departments for idea generation and project execution: Sustaining Products: Coordination with Operations teams including Production, Sustaining Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Quality Engineering. R&D/NPD: Coordination with R&D/NPD teams for sourcing requirements for new product or next‑generation development. Indirect: Coordination with IT, Sales/Marketing, Facilities, Sustaining Engineering, and Travel teams. Lead and identify dual sourcing and cost‑down projects; coordinate with project teams and facilitate execution in collaboration with key stakeholders such as Sustaining Engineering, Production, Supplier Quality, and Material/Service Suppliers. Drive cost‑reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, negotiation, and process improvements. Conduct competitive sourcing events to achieve an annual 5% cost‑down goal and the specified annual cost‑avoidance goal. Negotiate and execute supply agreements. Identify and mitigate potential risks within the supply chain, including supplier‑related risks. Work with Supplier Quality and Sustaining Engineering on NC/SCAR resolution. Negotiate remuneration for any financial damages to Artivion resulting from supplier negligence. Respond to supplier price‑increase notifications and negotiate with suppliers to mitigate negative cost impact. If applicable, maintain SAP master files, including vendor master, information records, and material master. Qualifications: BA in Business or BS in Material Science or Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of purchasing experience; 6 years of direct/indirect strategic sourcing experience along with medical device manufacturing and SAP experience preferred.
