Operations Manager

Southern California | $100,000-$110,000 | Primarily In Office

ParkerBeth Search Partners is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for an established, family-owned concrete subcontractor serving Southern California residential construction. This is a high-trust succession role for someone who understands the financial and administrative side of construction and can keep contracts, costs, billing, vendors, and relationships moving in the same direction.

This is not a field superintendent, construction scheduling, or field project-management position. The Operations Manager will work primarily from the office and become the central link among ownership, builders, customers, vendors, estimating, field employees, and a small administrative team.

What You Will Own

• Oversee daily office operations and guide a small administrative team responsible for reporting, billing, and related functions.
• Review customer and builder contracts for scope, pricing, billing requirements, risk, documentation, and operational obligations.
• Monitor job costs, committed costs, billings, remaining contract value, and overall project financial performance.
• Recognize budget, billing, supply, or contract issues early and coordinate practical solutions with the appropriate parties.
• Maintain responsive relationships with builders, customers, vendors, ownership, and field employees.
• Coordinate material and supply requirements, pricing, availability, and communication.
• Support light estimating and bidding by converting takeoffs, quantities, and scope into accurate pricing and proposals.
• Ensure contracts, change orders, job-cost information, and supporting documents align for accurate, timely billing.
• Keep ownership informed and organized around open issues, commitments, priorities, approvals, and decisions.
• Improve workflows and controls where needed without building unnecessary bureaucracy.

What You Bring

• Experience in a construction office, project administration, estimating support, or comparable operations role.
• Working knowledge of job costing, construction billing, contracts, change orders, and material costs.
• Ability to review project documents and support light estimating from takeoffs prepared by others.
• Experience coordinating or leading a small office team.
• Strong communication with customers, vendors, ownership, office employees, and field personnel.
• Sound judgment, critical thinking, organization, accountability, and practical problem-solving.
• Subcontractor experience is strongly preferred; concrete or residential construction exposure is valuable.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $100,000-$110,000.
• Health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days.
• 401(k) eligibility after one year.
• Accrued PTO
