About the Position
New Era Builders LLC is seeking an experienced, hands-on Residential Construction Foreman / Lead Carpenter to help manage our residential job sites throughout the La Crosse area.
Our projects include remodels, additions, decks, siding, windows and doors, basement finishing, kitchens, bathrooms, framing, and finish carpentry.
The right candidate will work alongside the crew while planning upcoming work, directing employees, monitoring quality, preparing material lists, and keeping projects moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead employees and communicate daily job-site expectations.
- Work alongside the crew performing skilled residential construction work.
- Review project plans and determine the proper sequence of work.
- Perform and oversee framing, siding, exterior work, window and door installation, and interior trim carpentry.
- Inspect completed work and maintain our standards for craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Prepare accurate material lists as projects progress.
- Communicate material needs, job-site concerns, changes, and delays to the owner.
- Train and assist less-experienced employees.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
- Protect customers’ homes and property throughout construction.
- Assist with final punch lists and project completion.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hands-on residential construction experience , with 5 or more years preferred.
- Strong experience in residential framing, siding, exterior construction, and interior trim work.
- High-quality carpentry skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lead employees, solve problems, and work without constant direction.
- Ability to read plans, take accurate measurements, perform layouts, and plan material needs.
- Dependable, professional, organized, and able to communicate clearly.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to safely lift construction materials and perform physical work throughout the day.
Previous foreman or lead carpenter experience is preferred, but we will consider a highly skilled carpenter who is ready to step into a leadership role.
