Adult Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care. This role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide day-to-day care for children and adolescents, ages 6-18, on an inpatient behavioral unit. Common diagnoses treated include major depression and ADD/ADHD. The RN will be accountable for medication administration and education, daily documentation of patient care, and managing and monitoring patient behaviors throughout the unit. Additionally, the RN will have the opportunity to lead and participate in educational groups.EducationAssociates Degree in Nursing requiredValid State of Maine RN license requiredBLS certification requiredExperience1-3 years of previous nursing experience working with adults preferredAt least 1 year of previous nursing experience requiredCPI Training requiredSkillsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkersCapability to manage stressful situations appropriatelyStrong ability to set professional boundariesDedicated team player with the ability to be self-directed and productive during downtimeHoliday coverage may be required. Maine residents must reside outside of a 50-mile radius. Previous employees are not eligible for rehire.
