City/State Charlottesville, VA Work Shift Third (Nights) Overview Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring a Registered Nurse for our ICU. This is a full‑time night shift (12‑hour shift) position in Charlottesville, VA. Sign on bonus up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates. Our ICU is a mixed Critical Care (ICU) 15 bed and Step Down (IMCU) 5 bed unit. The unit has 15 private rooms equipped with Phillips monitoring and state‑of‑the‑art Hil Rom technology, low‑air‑loss, continual lateral rotation and percussion capabilities. We serve a broad range of patient conditions and provide services for neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology, oncology, nephrology and surgical patients. A dedicated palliative care team guides nurses in end‑of‑life care. Critical Care NP/PA is on site 24/7 and interdisciplinary rounds occur daily. Registered nurses can expect a 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratio depending on needs and a rotating weekend schedule. Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is a primary plus stroke center. Care follows American Stroke Association treatment guidelines for adults with ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke. Specialty highlights include ventriculostomy monitoring, NICOM, balloon pump, transvenous pacing, CRRT and more. The RN also upholds standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization and environmental health).
