Job Description

We are searching for an Inpatient Staff Nurse -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care.\n

\nJob Duties & Responsibilities\n
\n
\nAssists in the collection of patient/family data that may include biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental information per site protocol\n
\n
\nCollects and documents vital signs, height/weight and reason for visit \n
\n
\nPrepares patient for examination per site protocol\n
\n
\nAssists provider, as directed, during treatments, examinations and testing as directed by provider and within scope of site\n
\n
\nAdministers medication and immunizations as directed by physician per site protocol \n
\n
\nDocuments administration of medication and immunizations in the medical record per site protocol\n
\n
\nProvides patient/family education as instructed by the physician or site protocol\n
\n
\nDocuments such education in the medical record\n
\n
\nCoordinates referrals \n
\n
\nTriages presenting patient complaint per site protocol \n
\n
\nVerifies provider order and patient per site protocol \n
\n
\nCollects and processes specimen according to manufacturer's instructions and using proper technique \n
\n
\nDemonstrates service philosophies to patients and families\n
\n

\nSkills & Requirements\n
\n
\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or one of the following:
\n
• Associate degree in nursing/related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and a signed agreement
\n
• Technical Diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
\n
• Must be currently enrolled in A Nursing Bridge Program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
\n
• RN License – Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
\n
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required
\n
• 1 Year Professional Nursing Experience Required
