Your future role at a glance Location: Nashville, TN Facility: Ascension Saint Thomas West Department: Nursing Administration Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift How you'll make an impact in this role Serve as the Emergency Department’s clinical expert and primary resource, providing direct support to frontline caregivers through regular rounding and real‑time coaching. Research and implement cutting‑edge clinical standards and evidence‑based practices to continuously improve patient outcomes and departmental efficiency. Identify learning gaps and lead the design and execution of educational initiatives to advance the professional growth of the nursing team. Proactively identify opportunities for clinical enhancement and spearhead initiatives that elevate the overall standard of care within the ED. Utilize strong interpersonal skills and extensive emergency nursing experience to advocate for both patient safety and staff professional development. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross or American Heart Association accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Work Experience: 2 years applicable experience required. 5 years preferred. What additional requirements you'll need Previous experience in nursing education, quality improvement, or leadership. Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) preferred. Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
