Under limited supervision the Plumber Lead oversees and leads work teams while prioritizing, assigning and coordinating daily staff activities. The Plumber Lead performs a variety of technical tasks related to installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.

Typical duties include: prioritizing and assigning tasks, training and assisting workers, maintaining supplies and equipment, monitoring progress and inspecting completed work, installing, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, clearing drains, repairing water and sewer lines, inspecting structures, cutting and threading pipe, installing valves and pipe fittings, filling pipe systems, studying building plans, and frequent travel between facilities. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include advanced knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment and materials, applicable plumbing codes, mechanics of operation of equipment, installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, five years of progressively responsible plumbing experience, general computer knowledge, effective communication skills, ability to build working relationships, and knowledge of ISO 9000 preferred.

Physical requirements include maneuvering to and around equipment, bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching, climbing stepstools or ladders, and lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work environment includes office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment, driving to and from worksite locations, exposure to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and external weather conditions.
