Transportation Engineer III

Job Title

A seasoned level engineering position in the Construction Division, accountable for complex design and design review in a designated engineering discipline.

About the Position

Performs project planning, budgeting, and project management of complex engineering projects. Participates in the setting of parameters for engineering specifications. Participates in the preparation of new rules and regulations and in revisions to existing rules and regulations. Reviews proposed changes to statutes and their impact. Mentors lower-level professional individual contributors. Has decision-making authority within approved parameters on complex/large-impact projects and complex/high-impact rules and regulations compliance. Serves as a source of testimony and expert advice to entities such as the Legislature, Committees, Courts, Commissions, and external engineering firms. May supervise engineering technicians.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, licensure as a professional engineer, and 4-6 years of experience.
