Director of Engineering

We are looking for a Chief Engineer for our New York market at a Boutique Luxury Hotel. This role is responsible for supporting our clients Hotel locations to maintain the Hotel areas and all Hotel assets to an acceptable quality standard. Responsibilities Fire Safety Director License RequiredHVAC knowledge and Experience RequiredPreventative Maintenance Experience RequiredDevelops an engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the hotel/brand's business strategy.Responsible for assisting in the overall operations of engineering department including payroll, department labor budget and hotel capital budget.Co-Responsible for compliance of hotels internal and external audits related to: Safety, Quality Assurance Engineering, Fire Inspections, Hotel Major Equipment, OSHA and ADAResponsible for overseeing capital construction and major maintenance projects.Responsible for developing the preventive maintenance program of equipment, in addition to the rooms program, to ensure the safety and comfort of all associates and guests.Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended. Ensure the proper operation, maintenance and repair of all to include but not limited to:Heaters, pumps, valves and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.Refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves as well as all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperatures.Air compressors along distribution lines and all valves and devices for air control.Natural and manufactured gas and distribution lines, including all valves and control devices.Water filters, softeners, piping and pumps used in conjunction with water distribution, including all sinks and toilet bowls, as well as supply lines and water lines.All types of motors or engines used to power pumps, compressors and fans.All types of locks, keys and locksmith related duties.All electrical work and repairs.All carpentry work, and those duties related to carpentry.Monitor associate performance in all phases of job functions ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.Support the hotel philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, disciplinary action, training, counseling, evaluating, etc.
