Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker operates and supports machinery that processes wire spools, monitors production runs, and performs basic assembly and inspection tasks to ensure product quality. This role involves repetitive, detail-oriented work with periods of downtime and may require sitting for most of the shift as well as occasional lifting of heavier materials.

Responsibilities

• Monitor spools of wire as they run through production machines to ensure smooth operation.
• Assist with feeding spools of wire through machines according to established procedures.
• Place wire onto spools, which may require sitting for the majority of the shift.
• Perform routine visual checks and inspections of parts to verify quality standards.
• Handle billets or bars and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Support general labor and production tasks as directed to maintain workflow.
• Follow safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area within the manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform general labor and production tasks in a manufacturing setting.
• Comfort with monotonous, repetitive work and periods of downtime.
• Capability to sit for an entire shift when required.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
• Basic machine operation support, including feeding and monitoring wire spools.
• Attention to detail for performing quality checks and inspections on parts.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
• Reliability and consistency in attendance and task completion.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altoona, PA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Altoona,PA.
