Job Description:

The Restaurant Host/Hostess is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. By nature of the position, the Restaurant Host/Hostess is the guest's first impression of the restaurant. This Restaurant Host/Hostess greets guests promptly, courteously, and graciously with eye contact and a smile. Utilizing Open Table, the Restaurant Host/Hostess takes reservations, reviews the daily reservation book and has the ability to seat guests without reservations. The Restaurant Host/Hostess has a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for that day. A principle role within the restaurant, the Restaurant Greeter is familiar with server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns, and their maximum workload capacity. The Restaurant Host/Hostess is also familiar with frequent guests and knows their names and preferences. • Ensure Guest Loyalty - Positive and personal performance + ACT ensures guest issues are resolved on time to the highest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service. Seat guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, and placing clean menu in front of guest. For reservations tables are set and ready to the number of people and occasion.
• Answer phone and record reservations
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and well being of guests
• Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell
• Must communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and on written communication
• Must stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
• Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must have alcohol training certification (TABC/TIPS)
• Must have Food Handler permit

Physical Requirements - (not limited to)
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to operate motor vehicle using safety precautions.
• Must be able to recognize, register, and respond visually to color and depth perception.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work indoor, outdoor, in extreme heat and cold.
• Must be able to work around moderate noise level.
