This role is crucial for supporting the GBS Accounting team by ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, strengthening internal controls, and contributing to the optimization of financial workflows that support complex retail activities. It offers direct experience in financial operations and valuable insight into accounting processes. The TL;DR Role: Internship Type: Part-time or Full-time Location: In-person, Houston, TX Pay: $21–$32 hourly Team: Reports to the Director, Operational Finance, supporting the GBS Accounting team. Mission: This role ensures the accuracy of financial transactions, strengthens internal controls, and contributes to the optimization of financial workflows to support retail activities. Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, financial systems What You’ll Actually Do Validation: Examine and validate balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Review: Review non-standard financial transactions for correctness and consistency with accounting standards. Documentation: Help maintain documentation related to financial transactions, along with review and compliance activities. Support: Collaborate with the accounting team to understand and support retail-related financial operations. Compliance: Contribute to initiatives that ensure adherence to compliance standards. The Must-Haves Background: Entry-Level; currently a sophomore pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: No specific years of experience are required, but candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with financial systems, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
