Sheriff’s Deputy (DCJS Certified) Full-Time Starting salary: $57,150 - $61,440 (negotiable with experience) The Fredericksburg Sheriff’s Office is hiring Virginia DCJS certified law enforcement officers for the full‑time deputy position. Primary duties include securing the courthouse, serving civil process, and transporting prisoners. Deputies may also carry out routine law enforcement responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities Secure courthouse premises. Serve civil process orders. Transport prisoners. Perform routine law enforcement duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements 21 years of age by completion of the law enforcement basic academy. United States Citizen. Valid driver’s license. High School Diploma or GED. No more than two moving violations in the last two years. No convictions of DUI, eluding, or leaving the scene of an accident in the last five years. No record of two or more DUIs. No driver’s license revocation or suspension in the last five years. No convictions, guilty or no‑contest pleas to Class 1 or 2 misdemeanors involving moral turpitude. No convictions, guilty or no‑contest pleas to any misdemeanor sex offense including sexual battery or consensual intercourse with a minor 15 or older. No convictions, guilty or no‑contest pleas to any offense of domestic battery. Undergo a background investigation including fingerprint‑based criminal history records.
