And if you've never worked in any of those industries but you're a hard worker who is ready to learn, we still want to hear from you. What Is Restoration? When a homeowner or business experiences a major water leak, fire, mold problem, or other property emergency, they need someone to respond quickly. As a Restoration Technician, you'll help return damaged homes and businesses to normal. You’ll learn how to: Extract water and mitigate water damage Set up and monitor drying equipment Perform demolition and removal of damaged materials Assist with fire and smoke cleaning Perform microbial remediation Assist with vandalism, crime scene, and biohazard cleanup Perform structural board-up and site stabilization Clean and restore affected areas Maintain equipment and job sites Document work through moisture logs, progress reports, safety logs, and diagrams Work directly with customers during difficult situations Every job is different.
