Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate a school bus in a safe and responsible manner, following established routes and schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, checking for mechanical defects or safety hazards. Maintain order and discipline on the bus, ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers. Enforce all traffic laws and school bus regulations. Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems to the transportation supervisor immediately. Maintain accurate records of mileage, routes, and student behavior. Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and the transportation department. Clean and sanitize the bus interior as needed. Assist students with disabilities as required. Participate in required training programs and safety meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor. Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Acceptable driving record. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Knowledge of traffic laws and school bus regulations. Ability to maintain order and discipline on the bus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with students of all ages and abilities. Ability to lift and assist students with disabilities as needed. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to see, hear, and speak clearly. Ability to use hands and arms to operate the bus and its controls. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to [Weight] pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
