Picture starting your shift in University Park, IL. Whether you prefer early mornings (6:00–9:00 AM), afternoons (3:00–5:00 PM), or late nights (11:00 PM–1:00 AM), you arrive ready to keep high-speed food production equipment humming. You walk the floor, verify that all machine guards and safety protocols are in place, and dig into a tricky fault on a packaging line. A quick look at the technical manual, a few diagnostics, and you’ve pinpointed the issue. You draft a sketch for a replacement component, price out parts, and get production back on track—with overtime available when volume rises.

Compensation & Hire Status: Up to $42/hr DOE. This is a direct hire opportunity. Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire.

What you’ll take on

• Install, maintain, and repair food manufacturing machinery while following all machine safety standards and plant protocols.
• Perform repairs ranging from routine fixes to complex mechanical and electrical work to meet company quality targets.
• Diagnose and analyze equipment failures using technical documentation and manuals.
• Create sketches/drawings for parts that need repair or fabrication; communicate clearly with vendors and teammates.
• Identify and evaluate spare parts, emerging technologies, and mechanisms that can boost equipment reliability.
• Estimate costs for parts and outside repair services based on technical needs.

Where and when you’ll work

• Location: University Park, IL
• Shifts: Openings on 1st (start 6–9 AM), 2nd (start 3–5 PM), and 3rd (start 11 PM–1 AM); overtime as needed.

What you bring

• 4+ years as a maintenance mechanic/industrial maintenance technician; food manufacturing experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise; ability to read blueprints and technical schematics.
• Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations; physically capable, hands-on approach.
• Basic familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
• Clear verbal and written communication; strong teamwork and collaboration; ability to read and write in English.
