Site Administrator (Pool) - Summer School- Central Office
Memphis-Shelby County Schools
Purpose and Scope Supervises the day to day operations of the summer school site to ensure quality instruction and the safety of the staff and students. Communicates behavior expectations and consequences of action to staff, students and parents. Administers discipline when necessary to correct disruptive behavior. Oversees the opening and closing of summer school sites. Ensures compliance with all state, district, and summer school policies and procedures. Ensures all state and district documents are submitted on time. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a closely related field plus a minimum of four (4) years of teaching or training experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or paid, exempt level directly relevant experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position for a total of eight (8) years. Active MSCS Assistant Principal in good standing required. The following special conditions are required: Commitment for the entire period of summer school and attendance at the Summer School graduation. May involve missing some district training opportunities. Attendance at ALL preparatory planning sessions and periodic administrative meetings. Availability prior to the end of the regular school assignment contract to participate in summer school setup and preparation. Availability for summer school closeout operations which may occur after new academic year contract has started. This position is for SUMMER SCHOOL ONLY. Bachelor's Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience. Master's Degree = 6 years plus required years of experience.
