Position Summary As a Tire & Battery Center (TBC) Associate, you will maintain facility safety, organize and merchandize the sales floor, present products, manage tire and battery orders, deliver expert customer service, drive sales, triage service workflow, demonstrate safety compliance, leverage technology, and serve as a brand advocate while ensuring all company policies, procedures, and integrity standards are followed. Responsibilities Maintain facility and sales floor safety and standards by adhering to all safety policies, conducting regular safety sweeps, handling forklifts and hazardous materials, complying with company steel standards, and promptly reporting unsafe situations. Ensure the TBC sales floor is organized, stocked, zoned, and merchandised according to company policies, including proper handling of claims, returns, shrink, and damages. Provide merchandise presentation by stocking, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise, and securing fragile and high‑shrink items. Monitor tire and battery orders daily and assist members with installation appointments, communicate lead‑time changes and cancellations, and offer alternative service suggestions. Provide expert member service and recommendations by greeting members, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing and service decisions, resolving concerns, and using Sam’s Garage and product knowledge to recommend safe and suitable tire and battery products. Drive sales and service excellence by communicating merchandise and service value and collaborating with associates across the club to promote TBC offerings. Triage and prioritize service workflow in TBC service bays, identify waiting members, understand service time requirements, prioritize appointments for maximum efficiency, and recommend adjustments to the Team Lead or Technicians. Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS, product specifications, seasonality, Point‑of‑Sale systems, phone, and in‑person selling techniques. Leverage technology to enhance operations by using digital tools and handheld devices for sales planning, service experience improvement, real‑time decision making, and staying informed about products and training. Serve as a brand advocate by modeling high‑quality service, influencing team members, and assisting with training. Provide products and services in accordance with Company policies, assist with purchasing and service decisions, complete vehicle service requests and tests, operate TBC equipment safely, receive and dispose of merchandise and supplies, document transactions, and manage hardware such as cash registers. Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethics standards, implement action plans, use the Open Door Policy, and apply these in all business processes. Complete work assignments and priorities, use policies, data, and resources, collaborate with managers and partners, identify priorities, carry out tasks, communicate progress, recommend improvement opportunities, and adapt to change. Follow TBC safety and security guidelines, provide correct information on TBC goods and services, meet member needs in a timely manner, report complaints and hazards, and complete required documentation. Follow Point‑of‑Sale procedures to prevent shrink, comply with laws when selling items, assist members with payments and return policies, use the cash register, complete sales efficiently, and report any concerns. Qualifications Valid state‑issued driver's license. 18 years of age or older. Preferred Qualifications Auto service industry experience. Retail experience. Compensation The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
