SharePoint Online Engineer

No Corp-to-corp. No 3 rd party firms . Position: SharePoint Data Migration Consultant (Egnyte) Contract: 6 months Location: Hybrid/Onsite in Irvine, CA Compensation : $70.00 per hour (W2 only) . Partnered with a client who is seeking an experienced SharePoint Online Consultant to lead a data migration from Egnyte to Microsoft SharePoint Online . This individual will serve as the technical lead, partnering closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to assess, design, plan, and execute the migration while ensuring data integrity, metadata preservation, security, and permissions alignment. . This is not a SharePoint Administrator role. This is a highly collaborative, project-based consulting role requiring significant engagement with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams. . Key Responsibilities

• Assess the current Egnyte environment, including data structures, permissions, and content usage.
• Design and implement the target SharePoint Online architecture, including sites, libraries, metadata, content types, and governance standards.
• Develop migration plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies to minimize business disruption.
• Configure and utilize migration tools such as ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager, or Mover.io.
• Execute pilot migrations, phased deployments, and final cutover activities.
• Map and migrate data, metadata, and permissions from Egnyte to SharePoint Online.
• Validate migrated content, permissions, and data integrity through post-migration audits.
• Apply Microsoft 365 security best practices, including access controls, sharing policies, and DLP considerations.
• Document migration processes, architecture, and governance standards.
• Provide post-migration support and assist with SharePoint governance and lifecycle management.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
• At least 1-2 data migration to SharePoint.
• Proven success delivering large-scale SharePoint migrations, including direct Egnyte to SharePoint Online migration experience.
• Expertise with migration tools such as ShareGate, Microsoft Migration Manager, or Mover.io.
• Strong PowerShell (PnP) scripting and automation experience.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), permissions, security, and access management.
• Experience with SharePoint information architecture, metadata, taxonomy, retention policies, and document management.
• Strong business-facing skills with experience gathering requirements and collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

• Microsoft 365 or SharePoint-related certifications.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Experience working within structured project delivery environments.
