Pharmacist In Charge (PIC)Location: Nacogdoches, TX (75961) Pharmacy Address: Nacogdoches, TX 75961 Employment Type: Full-Time Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | Normally between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM The Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) is responsible for preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians, and managing the overall day-to-day pharmacy responsibilities. This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and hands-on retail pharmacy management experience.Essential Job FunctionsReview and execute provider prescriptions while checking appropriateness and legalityPrepare and dispense medications accurately for individual patientsOrganize the pharmacy for operational efficiency and workflow optimizationMaintain inventory control, stocking, labeling, and medication expiration monitoringMaintain patient medication profiles and dispensing historyCounsel patients and provide medication-related information and guidanceEnsure compliance with HIPAA and Fraud, Waste & Abuse regulationsEnsure pharmacy and staff compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulationsEnsure adherence to facility policies and proceduresSupervise and direct Pharmacy TechniciansAssist with technician performance evaluations and behavioral managementManage technician schedules and staffing coordinationUtilize Pharmacy Patient Management Systems effectivelySupport additional pharmacy operational duties as neededRequired Education & SkillsDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentActive Pharmacist License requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong leadership, communication, and management skillsExperience RequirementsMinimum 3–5 years retail pharmacy management experience requiredPrevious retail pharmacy experience requiredPrevious pharmacy leadership experience preferredExperience utilizing Pharmacy Patient Management SystemsExperience managing pharmacy operations and compliancePhysical RequirementsStanding for prolonged periods of timeFine motor skillsAbility to handle, control, and operate pharmacy tools and equipment
