Associate Director - Scholar Programs

Provide leadership and operational oversight for access-based scholar programs within the Office of Scholar Programs (OSP), with primary responsibility for the Tech Promise Scholars (TPS) Program. Responsibilities include student advising and development, program and event management, onboarding and orientation, budget and operational oversight, staff supervision, and cross-campus collaboration to support student success and access. Job Duty 1 – Program Leadership & Student Development Lead the Tech Promise Scholars Program, the Achieve Atlanta (AATL) program, and other access-based scholar programs in portfolio; advise, mentor, and support scholars including regular check-ins; oversee student and professional development initiatives and programming including faculty involvement and outdoor recreation opportunities; supervise student ambassadors. Job Duty 2 – Events, Onboarding & Orientation Plan and oversee onboarding, orientation, retreats, and scholar events; design, teach, and recruit partners to teach GT1801 seminars for TPS, AATL, and scholars with similar awards under the OSP umbrella; develop onboarding modules and summer peer mentoring program. Job Duty 3 – Operations, Budget & Compliance Oversee program operations including meeting arrangements, procurement, records management, and compliance; track, reconcile, and report on program budgets; produce the TP Scholars annual report and required AATL documentation, and prepare requested documents. Job Duty 4 – Supervision & Office Management Supervise assigned professional staff; provide performance feedback; delegate work, set priorities, and ensure alignment with departmental goals. Oversee web-based student support sites. Manage office and represent programs publicly as needed. Job Duty 5 – Outreach, Recruitment & Collaboration Support outreach and recruitment activities; review applications and interview candidates; collaborate with Undergraduate Admission, Development, and student access partners on community engagement; advise leadership on limited‑income student needs. Train students, staff/faculty, and alumni volunteers. Job Duty 6 – Other Duties Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s degree 5–7 years of related professional experience Ability to work flexible hours and travel overnight as required Preferred Qualifications 7–10 years of related experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of scholarship administration and student development; skills in advising, program and event management, budgeting and financial reporting, and written and verbal communication; proficiency with Microsoft Office and related systems.
