Overview The RN Informatics Team Member plays a critical role in optimizing and supporting the Epic EHR system. This position combines clinical nursing expertise with information technology skills to ensure Epic applications meet the needs of clinical staff, improve patient care, and enhance healthcare operations. Under the direct supervision of the IT Applications Manager, the RN Informatics Team Member collaborates closely with clinicians, IT teams, and Epic support staff to improve workflows, ensure system functionality, and provide end‑user support. Responsibilities Serve as change champion for new implementations and enhancements to clinical workflows. Facilitate communication with operations, analyze and convert end‑user feedback into optimized solutions. Act as escalation point between operations and support teams to resolve issues or provide status updates. Coordinate with internal IT and Community Connect host on projects, ensuring implementations meet deadlines and quality standards. Provide technical assistance to users, report system needs promptly. Problem‑solve application issues collaboratively with end users, leadership, and IT. Identify issues and decision points in system design, operational workflow, system implementation, and support. Participate in system and integration testing phases. Provide daily at‑the‑elbow support to facilitate and promote end‑user adoption of order entry and documentation. Support, monitor, and evaluate staff documentation tools and processes. Offer on‑site rounding, troubleshooting and user support/education. Collaborate with Epic Trainers in developing, coordinating, and implementing user training and support strategies. Document issues, options, resolutions, communications, testing, and problem identification using established formats. Maintain organized documentation and share information with team members. Maintain regulatory compliance by staying current on trends and regulations in IT and healthcare. Qualifications Education Active RN license. At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. Preferred: BSN. Licenses / Certifications Current RN license in Oregon. Epic proficiency required within six months of hire. Preferred: Certification in Nursing Informatics (e.g., HIMSS or ANCC) and additional Epic certifications. Experience Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in a healthcare system. Minimum 3 years experience utilizing and/or supporting Epic applications. Preferred: Experience in nursing or clinical informatics positions. Other Able to work across inpatient and ambulatory settings, primary care and specialty. Prior Epic or other clinical information system design/build/implementation experience preferred. Ability to lead small projects and collaborate with staff of diverse skill sets. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely, high‑quality manner. Detail oriented, organized, motivated, positive attitude, teamwork mindset. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet time‑sensitive deadlines, and work under pressure. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and computer use; occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting light items up to 25 lbs. Visual acuity to view computer screens and read detailed documents. Likely movement throughout the healthcare facility, including administrative and clinical areas. Working Conditions Professional office setting within healthcare facility. Use of standard office equipment. Climate‑controlled, well‑lit, ergonomically designed for extended computer work. Occasional presence in clinical areas; potential exposure to infectious diseases. Training and PPE provided as needed. Employment Details 40 hours per week.
