Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Labor & Delivery unit. High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act.
• Documents care according to established standards.
• Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care based on individualized patient needs, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Utilizes clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
• Applies critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience and escalates issues to the appropriate chain of command as necessary.

Schedule Information

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM with every third weekend and holiday rotation required.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN License.
• CPR, ACLS, and NRP certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or related field.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
