Job Description

The Assembler performs electro-mechanical and clean room device assembly and packaging, ensuring consistently high-quality results. This role requires strong manual hand assembly skills, meticulous attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work effectively within a team in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical and clean room device assembly and packaging in accordance with manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
• Support company goals and objectives by following policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and applicable FDA regulations, including medical device quality standards.
• Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), departmental policies and procedures (DOPs), quality assurance programs, and all safety and environmental standards.
• Establish, build, and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers at all levels.
• Work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
• Read and interpret manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and inspection procedures written in English and follow all requirements.
• Monitor personal work output to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to quality expectations.
• Learn new equipment and processes quickly and demonstrate proficiency in their operation.
• Use basic hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and other equipment safely and correctly during assembly and inspection tasks.
• Operate electrical and mechanical equipment and interpret results to support production and quality activities.
• Identify and report issues related to tooling, materials, processes, and product quality to appropriate team members.
• Transact product within the production system using computer-based programs and complete required online training modules.
• Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, demonstrating active listening and effective collaboration in a cross-functional team environment.
• Practice and advocate good safety skills at all times while working in cleanroom and production areas.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of medical device assembly experience.
• Strong manual hand assembly skills for electro-mechanical and clean room device assembly.
• Ability to use basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and related tools.
• Ability to operate electrical and mechanical equipment and accurately interpret results.
• Ability to read, interpret, and learn engineering drawings, manufacturing procedures, processes, and inspection procedures written in English.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and to detect issues with tooling, materials, processes, and product quality.
• Ability to work well with others in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills and active listening abilities.
• Ability to work on a computer with various programs to transact product within the production system and complete online training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent education.
• Experience working in cleanroom and production environments.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with staff, clients, and suppliers.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn new equipment and processes quickly.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to environmental and quality standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in cleanroom and production areas, working with electro-mechanical equipment, hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and computer-based production systems. The schedule follows a 3/12 shift pattern, Friday through Sunday, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The environment emphasizes adherence to safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices, with clear procedures and standards guiding daily work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.95 - $19.95/hr.
