Senior Associate Scientist

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary and technical support for laboratory animals in veterinary and study-related capacities
• Monitor and evaluate animal health status, clinical signs, and behavioral changes; communicate findings to clinical veterinarian
• Administer medications via multiple routes and calculate dosing parameters across species and body weights
• Assist in veterinary procedures including anesthesia, dental work, wound management, and surgical support
• Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with regulatory frameworks and study documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Biology, or related life science field with 4+ years experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years experience
• AALAS certification at LAT or LATG level preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in laboratory animal science and preclinical research across multiple species
• Strong working knowledge of IACUC, USDA, and AAALAC regulatory requirements
• Ability to independently manage concurrent studies with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating complex clinical and scientific information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific documentation and study records
