JOB SUMMARY:

Cline's Heating and Air is one of the only authorized Gemstone Lights dealers in the Inland Northwest, and demand for permanent, app-controlled exterior lighting is growing faster than we can install it. We are not looking for a helper. We are looking for an Install Partner who wants to own a piece of this growth and take it as far as they are willing to go.

This is a per linear foot, 1099 partnership with no ceiling. Start part time on evenings and weekends while you keep your current work, or go full time from day one. We bring the sold jobs, the Gemstone product and training, the scheduling, and a reputation that has been setting the standard in Spokane since 1988. You bring the truck, the ladders, the tools, and the craftsmanship. Every job is priced per foot, so the faster and cleaner you work, the more you earn.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation Excellence:

• Install Gemstone Lights permanent track lighting systems on residential and light commercial rooflines, including track, channel, LED modules, power supplies, and controllers.
• Mount track cleanly and consistently along fascia, soffit, and trim with color-matched channel that blends with the home.
• Route, conceal, and terminate low-voltage wiring in a clean, serviceable way that protects the home and the warranty.
• Complete most installs of 150 to 250 linear feet in a single day while holding the Cline's standard of quality.
• Commission each system: connect the controller, pair it to the Gemstone app and home Wi-Fi, verify every zone, and program the initial patterns.

Customer Experience:

• Represent Cline's on every jobsite with professionalism, courtesy, and respect for the customer's home and property.
• Walk the homeowner through the app, initial patterns, scheduling, and basic troubleshooting before leaving the job.
• Leave every jobsite cleaner than you found it, with no debris, drill shavings, or packaging left behind.
• Communicate arrival times, delays, and jobsite issues promptly to the Cline's office and the customer.

Quality, Safety, and Documentation:

• Follow Gemstone Lights installation specifications, manufacturer warranty requirements, and all applicable local codes.
• Work safely at heights up to 40 feet using ladders, roof safety practices, and fall protection where required.
• Photograph completed work, record linear footage installed, and submit completion paperwork the same day so pay can be processed.
• Identify and report scope changes, unexpected roofline conditions, or material shortages before proceeding.
• Maintain accurate accountability for Cline's supplied product, returning unused material after each job.

Partnership and Growth:

• Set your own availability and take on the volume that fits your schedule, whether that is a few jobs a week or a full calendar.
• Coordinate with the Cline's lighting lead and scheduling team to keep installs on time and on plan.
• Assist with service calls, warranty repairs, and seasonal add-ons as available and agreed upon.
• As volume grows, recruit, train, and lead your own install crew to Cline's standards and earn on every foot your team installs.
• Help shape the playbook: contribute install best practices, checklists, and ideas that make the lighting division faster and better as it scales.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Builder Mindset: You want more than a paycheck. You see an opportunity, take ownership, and want to grow it into something bigger.
• Experience: 1+ years installing permanent lighting, low-voltage systems, gutters, roofing, siding, or similar exterior trade work. Gemstone, Trimlight, or Jellyfish experience is a strong plus.
• Registered and Insured: Active Washington State contractor registration (L&I) and general liability insurance, or willingness to obtain prior to first job. Idaho registration is a plus for Coeur d'Alene work.
• Self-Equipped: Reliable truck or van, extension ladders (up to 40 feet), cordless drill and driver, hand tools, and basic roof safety equipment.
• Comfortable at Heights: Able to work on ladders and rooflines, lift and carry 50 pounds, and handle physically demanding work in Inland Northwest weather.
• Detail-Oriented: You catch small issues before they become callbacks and take pride in straight lines and clean finishes.
• Tech-Forward: Comfortable with smartphone apps, Wi-Fi setup, and digital job documentation.
• Friendly and Communicative: You connect easily with homeowners and colleagues and communicate clearly and on time.
• Reliable: You show up when scheduled, do what you say you are going to do, and get the job done right the first time.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Must pass a background check.

COMPENSATION & PARTNERSHIP TERMS:

This is an independent contractor (1099) partnership, available part time or full time. Compensation is paid per linear foot of track installed, so your earnings are tied directly to your speed, quality, and volume, and there is no cap.

• Base Rate: $4.00 to $5.00 per linear foot installed, single story, standard pitch, based on experience and demonstrated quality.
• Complexity Adders: Additional $1.00 to $1.50 per linear foot for second story or steep pitch sections. Additional $0.50 per linear foot for stucco, brick, or stone fascia.
• Controller and App Setup: Flat fee of $100 per job for controller installation, Wi-Fi pairing, and homeowner training.
• Job Minimum: Every completed job pays a minimum of $500, so smaller jobs are still worth the trip.
• Earning Potential: A typical 200 foot home pays $900 to $1,100 or more for a single day of work. Part time partners running two jobs a week can add $2,000 or more to their month. Full time partners running four to five jobs a week can earn $4,000 or more per week during peak season.
• Build Your Own Crew: Partners who consistently deliver quality and volume are offered more work than one person can install. Add your own installers, run multiple jobs a day, and earn on every foot your crew puts up. How far you take it is up to you.
• Part Time or Full Time: You set your availability. Evenings and weekends, a few days a week, or a full calendar. We schedule around what you commit to.
• Product and Training Provided: Cline's supplies all Gemstone product, track, controllers, and consumables, and provides Gemstone installation training and certification support at no cost to you.
• Year-Round Work: Permanent lighting installs run twelve months a year, with peak volume in late summer through the holidays.
• Payout Timing: Pay is processed after the install is complete, completion photos and linear footage are submitted, and the customer walkthrough is signed off. Payments are issued on the next regularly scheduled contractor payment run.
• Callbacks: Workmanship callbacks within 90 days of install are corrected by the installer at no additional charge. Repeat workmanship issues may result in adjusted rates or removal from the schedule at management's discretion.
• Referral Commission: Earn 3% on any residential sale that comes from a referral you generate. We will give you access to marketing tools if you want help earning additional income.
• As an independent contractor, you set your own availability, provide your own vehicle, tools, and insurance, are responsible for your own taxes, and are responsible for any crew members you bring on.
