Staff SSD Systems Design Engineer

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.This role sits at the center of SSD system design and verification, playing a critical part in delivering reliable, high-performing products.Key Responsibilities include:Debug and resolve complex issues across firmware, hardware, and system domainsPerform performance, power, thermal, and reliability characterizationEnsure products meet defined performance, reliability, and compliance requirementsDevelop and apply test and characterization methodologiesSupport DFMEA and design review activitiesCollaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing and customer teamsMinimum Qualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience· Strong understanding of PCIe and NVMe protocols and system behavior· Knowledge of SSD architecture including FTL, NAND management, and controller interaction· Experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, and debug platforms· Demonstrated use of AI Assisted tools for debugging, automation, or technical analysis!Preferred Qualifications:· Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field· Experience with SSD development, firmware interaction, or system validation· Proficiency in Python, C++, Bash, or similar scripting languages· Experience with power and thermal characterization techniques· Familiarity with tools such as JIRA and ConfluenceWork Location Requirement; This role is full-time onsite and based in Longmont, Colorado.
