Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on construction machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractors.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals to identify root causes quickly.
• Conduct electrical diagnostics on systems such as electrical wiring, sensors, and control modules to ensure proper functionality.
• Repair and replace components like transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and air brakes to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
• Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary for testing or troubleshooting purposes.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (5 year minimum) working as an Equipment Mechanic in a dealership or heavy equipment environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and repair procedures.
• Hands-on experience with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and systems such as Caterpillar or similar brands.
• Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, diesel engine repair, and air brake systems.
• Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues effectively.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, cranes, or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with welding techniques, fabrication processes, tire service, alignment procedures, HVAC systems, and vehicle maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to support internal teams or clients.
• Capable of performing heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols using hand tools and power tools.
