Head of Quality Control

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturer of power distribution and electrical infrastructure solutions to hire a Head of Quality Management / QMIP . This executive-level role will establish and lead enterprise-wide quality strategies, build standardized quality systems across multiple manufacturing sites, and drive continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the company's enterprise Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Management & Inspection Program (QMIP).
• Establish and maintain ISO-compliant quality programs, including ISO 9001 certification initiatives and ongoing audit management.
• Standardize QA/QC procedures, testing protocols, NCR processes, CAPA programs, and quality reporting across multiple facilities.
• Oversee inspection programs covering incoming materials, fabrication, welding, electrical testing, FATs, and final product acceptance.
• Develop supplier quality standards and partner with Procurement to audit and improve supplier performance.
• Build, mentor, and lead a multi-site team of Plant Quality Managers, Supplier Quality professionals, and QC inspectors.
• Establish and track KPIs including First Pass Yield (FPY), Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), warranty claims, and safety metrics.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as the executive quality representative during customer audits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and major quality investigations.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Leadership teams to drive quality culture and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience leading quality organizations across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Hands-on experience building Quality Management Systems and achieving ISO 9001 certification.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, audits, CAPA, NCRs, supplier quality, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience supporting heavy electrical equipment, power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, modular skids, or industrial manufacturing operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing customer audits, FATs, and executive-level quality escalations.
• Ability to travel 30-40% between manufacturing facilities and supplier locations.
