Registered Nurse Free Standing Emergency Room

Overview Registered Nurse, Free Standing Emergency Room. The role supports patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team, aligning with the department’s specific requirements and applicable standards of practice. The RN advocates for patients and families and contributes to initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and the future of nursing. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to deliver exceptional care. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology for comprehension. Provide guidance on non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepare patients and families for future self-management. Schedule: Day shift; 3 twelve-hour shifts; collaborate with a tight-knit team and supportive leadership. Position supports Free Standing Locations in Johnson County (Shawnee and Olathe). Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required). Current licensure as a registered nurse in the practicing state(s) or active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. AHA BLS required; current AHA ACLS to be obtained within 90 days of hire; NIH Stroke training within 90 days; TNCC required within 6 months; ENPC required within 6 months; PALS preferred.
