Position Summary: Mount Mary University invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor of French to teach Traveler's French. The successful candidate will be able to teach one evening section of the course, which will be taken by fashion majors in preparation for a later trip Paris. Adjunct faculty are expected to provide high-quality instruction, maintain regular communication with students, assess student learning effectively, and collaborate with department faculty and university staff to support student success and the mission of Mount Mary University.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Provide high-quality instruction to students

· Effectively assess student learning

· Maintain regular communication with students using both email and Mount Mary University's LMS

· Collaborate with department faculty to support student success and the mission of Mount Mary University

· Participate in group assessment for the composition program

Skills and Experience:

· Familiarity with current French language pedagogy and student-centered pedagogy

· Experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds, including first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and students from historically underrepresented communities

· Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence

· Experience and understanding of current issues and developments in higher education

· Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Qualifications:

· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duties satisfactorily. · A master's degree in French

· College-level teaching experience is preferred

Physical Demands:

· Must sit, walk or stand

· Some repetitive motion may be required

Working Conditions:

· Varying workflow; sometimes stressful with high workload times of the year

· Complete work required within a limited time
