Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Outpatient Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a float position providing cardiopulmonary testing and non-critical respiratory care to patients up to 21 years old. The role involves independently performing advanced procedures across multiple outpatient facilities, ensuring accurate testing and patient education.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform advanced pulmonary function tests including spirometry, plethysmography, DLCO, and stress tests according to departmental standards.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and educate patients and families to ensure understanding, compliance, and emotional needs are addressed during testing.
  
  
• 
  Administer non-critical respiratory treatments such as aerosol therapy, airway management, and equipment maintenance.
  
  
• 
  Maintain organized documentation of procedures, supplies, and ongoing testing protocols.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, suggesting alternative approaches for improved outcomes.
  
  
• 
  Lead departmental activities by overseeing daily operations, equipment updates, and process improvements under supervision.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Current RRT license in hand, with strong knowledge of pulmonary testing procedures.
  
  
• 
  Minimum of Peds experience, with NICU background not required.
  
  
• 
  Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  
  
• 
  Proficiency in Windows-based systems and electronic medical records preferred.
  
  
• 
  Ability to independently perform procedures and manage patient/family education.
  
  
• 
  PALS certification (AHA) required; BSN preferred.
