Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Cath & EP Lab Tech) Location: Baylor Regional Medical Center Grapevine, 1650 W College St, Grapevine, TX 76051. $10,000 Sign-On Bonus and relocation assistance available. Full‑time, 10‑hour days, 4 days a week (Monday‑Friday 6:00 am‑4:30 pm). Approximately 7–8 on‑call days per month, including weekends and holidays, with a 30‑minute response time to the facility. Job Summary The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, assists physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology lab procedures. Prepares room and equipment, instructs patients, monitors their condition, and provides routine and emergency care during procedures. Contributes to orientation and training of team members and participates in quality control initiatives through auditing and reporting. Essential Functions of the Role Assist physicians with arteriograms, cathizations, permanent pacemaker and implantable cardioverter–defibrillator implantations, diagnostic and interventional procedures, peripheral and coronary interventions, and thrombolytic therapy. Adhere to national and state radiation protection regulations and provide emergency procedures such as CPR and defibrillation. Perform pre‑ and post‑procedure care and monitoring. Orient patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures and answer questions to relieve anxiety. Monitor ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances in the electrophysiology lab and notify physicians of variances. Run RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3‑D mapping, and record procedural documentation. Manage and maintain imaging for stenosis testing and other cardiac/peripheral cases. Collect registry and quality data on appropriate forms and prepare procedure reports. Prepare and maintain sterile fields for laboratory procedures. Order and maintain inventory of procedure‑room supplies, ensuring staffing needs are met and equipment is not expired. Coordinate and audit resources during annual inventories. Perform routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment and notify appropriate team members for repairs. Participate in orientation, training of new staff or students, and additional duties as assigned. Oversee quality‑control monitoring (NPSG, turnaround times, performance‑improvement initiatives) on daily, monthly, and quarterly bases. Engage in mutual governance, departmental or hospital committees, including LEAN, NOBLE, 5‑S projects, inter‑departmental committees, professional organization participation, and QC assurance. Transport patients to and from procedural areas. Demonstrate excellent customer‑service skills. Key Success Factors Education and/or experience: associate degree in a related field, completion of a US military training program equivalent to an associate degree, or two years of related cardiovascular lab experience. Availability for on‑call responses per facility policy. Knowledge and ability to apply complex invasive cardiac and vascular instrumentation and techniques. Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Qualifications Education: Minimum associate degree or two years of work experience (two years preferred but not required). Graduate of an accredited RCIS‑related technical or associate’s degree program preferred. Experience: Two years of cath, EP, or vascular experience preferred but not required. Licensure/Credential: Must hold a radiography or imaging credential (ARRT‑R, MRT through TX Medical Board, or RCIS preferred). Certification in one of the following: ARRT‑R, MRT, RCIS, RCES, CEPS, CCDS. Certifications / Licenses / Registrations ACLS – Within 30 days of hire/transfer. BLS – Within 30 days of hire/transfer.
