Registered Nurse Medical Unit Full Time Night Shift

Position Summary Avera Behavioral Health Center - Sioux Falls Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) The pay range for this position is listed below. This position may be eligible for a Sign On Bonus up to $15,000. Registered Nurse (RN) position is eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program: $167/month up to $10,000. Unit Highlights The Adult C Unit is a 26‑bed unit. 1 RN for a 7‑8 patient ratio. Flexible scheduling program. Student Loan Repayment program. Responsibilities Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicates nursing care plan and pertinent information to the health care team; coordinates with other healthcare providers; confers with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; documents patient condition, status, and influencing social factors; establishes nursing care objectives; defines nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructs patient and family to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measures health outcomes against patient care standards; re‑evaluates care objectives; modifies nursing care plan. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adheres to organization standards, policies, and legal regulations. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintains competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with active license in the state of practice upon hire. 3+ years of experience in behavioral health (preferred).
