Project Overview:

The Infrastructure GBU's, Renewables & Clean Power business line is pursuing future combined cycle power plant projects. The business line is assembling a proposal team to be based in Reston, VA with the intention of mobilization to site upon award.

Job Summary:

The role provides a unique opportunity to initially participate in the front end development of a project, supporting the proposal team in contributing to the construction strategy based on past project experiences in making provisions for successful execution and to address project risk. Upon award, the role transfers into the delivery phase where, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.#LI-SP1

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership / Supervision

• Proactively engages with their team's development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback
• Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
• Provides input and recommendations to the Proposal team in support of project logistics, temporary infrastructure and workflow management to support the development of the project site infrastructure and associated distributable.
• Reviews and supports the development of FNM staffing requirements to establish a complete and efficient staffing profile for the Project's construction phase.
• Provides advice and guidance required to ensure successful craft management has been fully addressed in the site management strategy.

Planning / Productivity

• Determines workforce requirements.
• Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

• Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
• Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
• Supports the review and recommendations for tools and equipment during the Proposal phase, including reviews with BED to address Project execution planning requirements.

• Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
• Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.

Technical

• Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
• Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
• Works with the assigned Construction representative and the wider Proposal team to review, develop or produce documentation to support proposal deliverables

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Established performance capabilities as a Lead Discipline Superintendnent, Area Field Superintendent, or Project Field Superintendent.
• Detailed knowledge of combined cycle power projects and the challenges therein, ideally having participated in 3+ past projects
• A clear communicator, able to articulate challenges and strategies to address risk and improve performance
• Experience in the management of US based direct-hire projects. Kknowledge of Union based projects and execution desirable.
• A knowledge of points of execution risk for combined cycle power projects
• A desire to implement strategies to improve project performance
• Possessing an open and approachable character, willing to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders during the development stage
• Direct experience in executing or managing multiple disciplines (i.e. Civil, Piping, Electrical, l&C, etc)
• Previous knowledge of applicable codes and standards associated with power plants (ASME Section I, ASME B31.1, ACI, NFPA 70E, etc).

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated success as a Lead Discipline Superintendent, Area Field Superintendent, or Project Field Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of combined cycle power projects, including execution challenges, with participation in three or more projects preferred.
• Effective communicator, capable of clearly identifying risks, challenges, and mitigation strategies to improve project performance.
• Proven experience managing U.S.-based directhire construction projects; experience with union labor environments is desirable.
• Solid understanding of key execution risk areas specific to combined cycle power projects.
• Proactive approach with a demonstrated commitment to implementing strategies that enhance safety, quality, and overall project performance.
• Open, approachable leadership style with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders during the development and execution phases.
• Direct experience executing or managing multiple construction disciplines (e.g., Civil, Piping, Electrical, I&C).
• Working knowledge of applicable power plant codes and standards, including ASME Section I, ASME B31.1, ACI, and NFPA 70E.
